Voices of Collaboration
"Voices of Collaboration” is a space where my peers, leaders, and partners I’ve worked with share their perspectives on our time together. Collaboration has been at the heart of my career — building bridges, creating solutions, and achieving results through people. These reflections highlight not just my work, but the relationships, trust, and shared commitment that made it possible and demonstrate the power of working together.

Chief Marketing and Technology Office
National Association of Attorneys General
Washington DC
Milissa was contracted to work with the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) on various projects that have had significant, lasting impacts on our organization. She was instrumental in creating the foundation of our Train the Trainers program, developing top-notch learning materials and final outputs using Articulate Rise, which continue to benefit our team and members even after five years. Furthermore, she led a hands-on DiSC Assessment workshop that revolutionized how our leaders and employees perceive and harmonize with each other's work approaches – insights that we still utilize today to enhance collaboration. We appreciated and recognized Milissa's gift for innovative thinking, her talent in pinpointing the underlying origins of issues instead of being sidetracked by superficial matters, and her exceptional skill in actively involving and rallying people.
Operating Partner
Former HAC, Inc. COO and President

Having worked with Milissa for two years as her direct leader, I can confidently say she is one of the most impactful professionals I’ve had the privilege to work alongside. Milissa brings not only a very high IQ but an equally strong EQ, coupled with exceptional problem-solving skills and a deep passion for educating, training, and developing people.

From the moment she joined, she quickly built relationships, learned the business, and earned a seat at the table — where she immediately began to strategize on how to impact our bottom line through our greatest asset: our people. She consistently sought out ways to build up employees, aligning development directly to business goals. Milissa managed both small and large-scale initiatives that reached over 3,100 employees, always thinking outside the box to connect each project to the broader organizational impact.

She is a trusted partner who collaborates with leaders across all levels of the company to position the business for success. Her work ethic is unmatched — she never misses a deadline — and her ability to balance vision with execution makes her an invaluable colleague. Milissa is innovative, strategic, and people-centered, and I wholeheartedly recommend her as a value-add to any organization.

Milissa was a great hire at HAC. She is naturally positive, high-energy, and a team player. She jumped right in and contributed from day one. Milissa quickly rebuilt our training capability and did a wonderful job connecting with our many store-level and office associates. She played a critical role in helping to launch our new app-based platform, organized in-person training, and helped develop crucial content. I’d recommend Milissa to any organization.

I had the privilege of working with Milissa to create and deliver programs that were anchored in purpose and values.
She consistently focused on the learner experience, making sure transformation was more than a talking point. With Milissa, leaders left equipped to apply what they learned and are accountable for growth.
What I admire most is how she carries vision with credibility while operating in reality. She knows how to balance aspiration with execution. Milissa also brings deep care to her work.

Milissa is a true leader. When I was initially transitioning careers and into an instructional design role, she reached out to celebrate my career change. From there, I asked if she would be willing to provide guidance — and she gave freely of her time. She pointed me toward foundational texts and tools, provided thoughtful feedback on my early portfolio, and helped me understand the scope of the field I was entering. Her tact was remarkable — she highlighted my gaps while keeping me motivated and focused. She asked the right questions, suggested key resources, and left me with the autonomy to apply them at my own pace. Milissa is a standout figure in the world of instructional design, as this mentorship journey demonstrates.
I encourage any prospective employer to place Milissa in a senior role where her leadership, insight, and expertise can guide others.
